@Wombat It’s a pretty harsh way to avoid the grass is greener on the other side of the fence, fleeing from the city…

I first went to the range with my mate about 8 years ago and have been along a few times since over the years with friends who havs their license.

I actually got as far as sitting the safety course and passed and had all the paperwork just about ready to get my own license 3 years ago, but then life got in the way and I never got around to finalising everything and handing it in - I think it has to be handed in within 3-6 months so it’s long expired now and I’m about to repeat the process.

The challenge of a new skill is what appeals to me. The idea of going for nice groupings at various ranges and comparing different ammo types along with having to factor in wind is exciting to me. I also like learning all I can about guns and calibers etc.
Hobbies that have the potential to be a big additive to lifestyle and open new doors are appealing to me etc.

I’ve done pretty good when I’ve had the opportunity to fire my friends rifles etc. hitting the 500m gongs and putting together some fairly tight groups at 2-300m, so to have my own rifle and go to the range as often as I want will be awesome.

The thing is I’m stuck on the wrong side of the fence.
I now risk my job or a $1500 fine to get home…

Thanks for sharing that mate, I find it really Interesting to see what drives the growth of our sport… :beers:

@Wombat yeah that’s a shitty spot to be in mate, hope it works out ok bro.:beers:

No worries man, what about you?

You say that, but you should of seen the masses fleeing Vic on Friday night as I was coming into the state. Cars and caravans galore.

@bentaz I wonder what the fleeing deserters thought when they seen you heading into Vic instead of out mate. With all that fleeing it’s probably safer in Vic, as the virus is probably on a lovley caravan and camping holiday around Nsw lol

Welcome aboard @mts247, you will find lots of similar minded folk here that are into oddities and plenty of fellow Mexicans as well.

If you have a read of this you will see that there are a few members who own the A22R, Savage A22R discussion - Longarms - Oz Gun Lobby

Where abouts in Victoria are you from?

In the Wodonga area up near the border.

Yep, I’ve seen plenty of talk on here about the A22R and they are almost giving them away now.
