Gun adds I wish I could buy!

I think…

Some call them express sights. http://www.hallowellco.com/express.htm

Yeah I’ve seen them before. That one caught my eye because it looks like it’s fitted to what looks like a centre rail between the two barrels, just like on a SxS shotgun. All of the others I have seen have been dovetailed into the receiver…

G’day Bent_arrow,
Yes, Express sights can be purchased from fixed single up to as many as 10 folding leaves. The sight was invented by WW Greener and is still called the Greener sight by many collectors and DG rifle fans. A 3 leaf Express like that in the photo could be fitted to the rib of a shotgun for around $150 to $200.

@Bigpete sights like these above would go great on a Greener GP for slug shooting.
@Bent_arrow I think Brownells Aust have express sights like those.

@Oldbloke time to let the moths out mate!

Oooo ye, that’s a good deal and you have been after mine. Do it, @Oldbloke - do it!

It does look like the last 2" have been added aftermarket though. Looks like a break?

This would be Cool, it would be interesting to mess around with 30-40 and pointy bullets.

@Oldbloke here ya go $300

It is probably just me but that looks weird

I agree, it looks stupid as, but it comes with the original wood work.
You could probably sell the spastic plastic and recoup a chunk of your money.

H&Rs are pretty cool guns, mine is like a hand cannon. However, timber is nothing write home about. For field, I’d keep plastic on and make use of adjustable stock (sorry NSW lol).

However, Boyds have after market stocks for them and they are oh so sexy (and cheap to post).

N.B.
Pistol grip would probably work against you though for snap shots.

Really like this gun in that calibre. Would loooove to own one. But protruding magazine is a deal breaker for me. Grrrrr

I didn’t know they did those in 30-30, that would be Cool!

They do* them in all sorts of calibres.

* “they” I don’t think exist anymore. Either Remington or Marlin or one is one and the same, anyway, something like that, purchased them and as far as I know just discontinued the production. Hope I am wrong, but something I read…

The angles are all over the place on that 30-30 I bet it would handle recoil wise like a pig.
