CZ 515 lever release 22LR (reviews)

Yeah, i did that almost weekly with old shotguns.
Once had a permit come back aproved before i could get back into the lgs from the coffee shop over the road.

Was resighting the gunsie today with a difference (x6) scope… CCI standard at 50m from a rest. Just click, bang, click, bang… Nothing too focused or deliberate… with boring predictability. Probably 25 in one and 40 in the other. By the end of it, I was just bored and wanted to unload, because taking ammo home from loaded magazines is a sin. Not a bad result.

I mean, obviously it’s not better than a good lever action or a 1950’s Brno, sarcasm, but she’ll do…

N.B.
It’s actually a lot better than all lever actions I own (I own one or two…).

Id be happy with that from a lever release

For homies with the updated Tac model, don’t follow the Winchester maintenance video guide exactly.

You only need to take out the rearmost screw on the Pic rail. The second rearmost screw doesn’t need to be taken out to remove the shroud. It’s actually got some Loctite on it. (Guess how I found out )

The second screw only holds the rail to the handguard - not sure what it was like for the older ones.

Ooo I definitely want to handle the new variant, @Tempestman. Can you bring it on Sunday plz.

Can you bring it on Sunday plz

Yeah sure but it’s still no optics - tbh, I was surprised you didn’t ask to handle it on the Sat we met up lol.

I should have taken some pics of the internals when I had it apart. the bolt group looks slightly different to the one the guy had in the video.

Has anyone been successful in attaching a sling? If so can you put up some pics please.

Got it approved. Only took replying to one email in the end.

Said I’d by using a 1-6 optic on this and 3-9 on the Ruger (just noticed it’s actually a 3-7 whoops)

Noted some other differences (shorter overall length for walking in thick scrub), said it would be better for quick follow up shots etc

That’s the hoops jumped through. Will be a couple more months to bring it home and set it up.

You can get 15 rnd OEM CZ mags from Cleavers for $80.

Think that’s cheaper than Ideal Small Arms.

Apparently they’re only good for the 515 though? Does anyone have thoughts on why the spec would be that different?

I’ve ordered some from Gun Emporium, should arrive this week, I will test them on a few different CZ and CZ compatible rifles.

For those interested, I got some newly released factory CZ 15 round mags.

Compared to the ACME mag, CZ mag is much larger and wider. Much better finish and construction, just in another league. Looks much better. Have yet to shoot but loads and feeds flawlessly.

Also tested in a Lithgow and fits well.

Much longer chunkier mag looks the goods.

Fun guns, thats for sure, but in saying that, i had a lot of fun with my old Anschutz 1450 last sunday…couldnt put it down! I think its been too long between shots with the 22

I would assume so. They publicly say it’s for 515 only but I have tested it in a Lithgow crossover and Cz MTR, fit was just fine.
It would be safe to assume these would work in any CZ that takes standard rimfire mags.

Magz been field tested today. Amazing in 515. No other words.

If anyone is interested…

Tested this (bigger) mag today in a comp (i.e. ran hard). Flawless. Not a single failure.

Well it lived up to the hype.

New challenge - to try and get a 25 or 20 round mag.

I believe WAPOL will provide import permit as it’s category A

You need a permit to buy a mag?

B709a to import a mag. It’s a customs thing.

Keep us updated with this mate as I’ve just put an application in for one of these and I’d love a 20+ round mag… I think you can get the 15 round ones over here. Glad to hear it was fun to shoot too.

Just order 15 round magz man, they are in the country. Cleaver has them for $79. Don’t know about WA, in VIC B709 is free, but postage cost will smash you. 15 round magz look really nice too.
