CZ 515 lever release 22LR (reviews)

Excellent review mate. Few of my observations.

I have this happen too but its only ever happens with my aftermarket Ideal Arms mag which has become anything but ideal. The factory 10rnd CZ mag has been broken in and it runs flawlessly.

Theres not really any “conversion” done here. They added a lever and spring loaded catch to interrupt the bolt, thats it. When the little fork thats actuated by the lever is held down during firing, it slips under the bolt catch and is stuck there.

Yes mag changes suck but i think thats just how it goes with tiny .22 mags. No amount of flaring the magwell will solve fumbling over what is still a miniature mag compared to a 223 PMAG.

There is an american mob making aftermarket extended mag catches for the 512 platform. I’ve been meaning to get one.

Yes having the charging handle on the right hand side certainly does give AK vibes.

Does anyone here have the tactical with the fixed stock? What’s it like in terms of ergonomics? Or is it no difference, and just classic me overthinking things again?

I’m thinking to order one with a fixed stock cause I’m likely to need to move to Sydney in the foreseeable future.

if you secure it in place it will become a fixed stock :stuck_out_tongue:

had mine for a few weeks now and in love with it… smooth and well made… I have a hatsan escort 22lr, and the mags are interchangeable… which is a bonus… boy do you burn through rounds when using it, lol !! …

1 side note, it doesn’t always cycle properly with CCI quiets, everything else sub sonic its happy…

It ruined 22s for me! I honestly think that the Australian market has peaked in 22s. This is as cool as its going to get. I love it, but also… Now I want moaaaar.

So as I am told, this (currently for sale) is the last shipment, no more.

Still a couple at my shop.
Worth 1600?

I’ve shot JustStarting’s a couple times now - they’re really good fun, and a great way to go through tonnes of 22LR.

If I wasn’t trying to limit myself to 1 pew-pew this year, I would jump on it.

Well, if you are limiting, make this one The One.

And then another one.

That new Taipan does look mighty good as a penis extension though.

Trying not to derail this thread, but… Knowing how soft your delicate office hands are, you’d get to shoot it like once a year. 22 you can shoot heaps and often and cheap. Plus, you just offset it, ye? Like this year you get 5 and then next 5 years you won’t get anything. But say if you do, then year after that you don’t get anything. It’s a solid system.

It is the one to get in the lever release options so do yourself a favor and get a new one while stocks are still available. dont get the FOMO’s.

Yeah they are cool to shoot…the first i knew of them, is when @juststarting let me unleash with his, at the 2020 plinkfest…great fun gun! But…i think i would go a BL22 for a fast repeater pew pew…I know…im old!

…and grumpy, don’t forget grumpy.

Not when im shooting a Martini!

I ended up getting both. I feel like it will become the next Ruger 96 or Winchester 9422. A pretty good gun that appreciates in value well beyond it’s inherent quality.

I’m applying for two more next week because reasons (see WA thread)

I can’t really afford them but I’ll do a long laybuy and go the Weatherby Kakadu 308 instead of Meat Eater I wanted. That’s -$800 that half pays for cz515.

It could be a fight because I already have a 22lr and I’ll have to justify it. Adjustable stock is one reason we have thought of… Good for wife and son.

And I’ll sell the Ruger American 22LR if I have to
Don’t love it.

WA laws just do my head in. We can buy .22’s over here in Victoria on a whim. I’ve bought .22’s in a carpark here for $50 (legally) because it was $50 and had an interesting badge. I hope you guys can get some sort of relief over there at some point. Madness.
