I know what you mean, I did find a 375 and 408 cheytac one but it didn’t have a price which means its way out of my budget.
Ok, so guys, i actually want a long barreled creed, with an adjustable stock, i could be convinced to go a chassis but it has to look cool, also an action which could potentially be based off a remington 700 or tikka or similar for accessories would be good
On my list i have a
26" bergara b-14 hmr 6.5 creed
Same same but in a howa in the bifrost that @1Fatman showed me
A tikka of some sort ( know very little about them )
Or a remmy 700 which i’ve heard are hit and miss
All come under 2g for a bare rifle however i think i’d end up re stocking the remmy and tikka
Thoughts?
Look cool? Don’t you have it the other way round? Chassis looks freaking awesome. Stock , would need to find one that looks cool.
Some chassis look sweet some look fugly but thats a personal opinion that will differ
To me manners mcs prs2 and the mcmillian a6 are spot on what i want in stock design
You sound like me, basically I want a CZ Shadow 2, but not a CZ Shadow 2, but it has to be and as good and cheaper and better looking, but it has and has not to be a CZ rofl. Oh, I get you dude.
Pretty much i basically want a bergara but don’t want to pay $1995 for one
Now I am confused lol.
You want a 26" barrel in 6.5 Creedmore in a GRS Bifrost stock with either a Tika or Remington 700 action.
Would that be a correct assumption?
I think you’ll struggle to find the ‘look’ that you’re after (and I understand that you are after chassis or high end tactical looking stock) under $1300. And that’s just the base. Then comes gun and optics. And probably $200+ rings. And if you want to go all out, $300+ for a bipod. You are looking at $2,000 before the gun
…and to be brutally realistic, you won’t exhaust capability of a cheap good rifle for a while. Perhaps get something that you’ll outgrow in a year and trade up then, when you know exactly what you do and don’t care about.
Thats why i was considering the howas in the bifrost or similar stocks, they can be modified off the shelf pretty much, i’m not to concerned about crazy half minute groups because i know even the cheapest rifle will out shoot me
So buy one.
Agreed at $1390 you still have cash for ring, scope and extras.
Buy a press and dies, start perfecting your reloading and load testing skills.
Much more important than having a cool looking stock😁

Chuck your 308 in this and get practicing!
Yep. Loading with a hammer and a scoop ain’t going to cut it any more lol. That’s another few hundred.
5K$ for the Rifle and 5K$ for wank factor. I have shot against one of these and while they are ok for a factory rifle a 5k$ custom beats them hands down.
Let’s put this ‘wank factor’ thing to bed…
I was watching some history video about first lever action rifles and how US military rejected them, because they thought there’s too much wank factor in ‘rapid fire’.
I see ZERO issues with the so called wank factor. I think most modern ‘tactical’ guns look absolutely fantastic. I love it. Think of it as a change of guard… I am sure older fellas get angry and confused too when they realise that cartridges are not loaded from the muzzle end
Go tactical or go home, I say, for modern long range shooting, half the winning is looking cool!
The grs bifrosts i actually find fugly as but having done some resarch they look super functional, still in no rush though, and yes i do need reloading gear, my reloads arn’t horrible though i’ve got some seriously good ones for my .308 courtesy of @sungazer 's gear and knowledge tailored to the lithgow, my 500’s @GUN-DMC you saw were a bit rough yes still learning about straight cased calibres
They look functional, but I don’t mind the look. Looks badass.
Look on the GRS site. The bi-frost is a pretty good option and the Howa pics don’t do it justice.
When I say wankfactor it has nothing to do with looks single load or magazine load. It is more about paying for a name that in reality adds no extra functionality or precision to the gun. You can build a custom gun using the best available parts for half the cost and it could look identical but perform twice as well.
I have no problem with how people want to spend their money. I would just like them to be able to make an informed decision before doing so.
