This a good cheap but solid start to a custom long range rig
@GUN-DMC now thats the right price! @sungazer what do you think? I know next to nothing about omarks bit i assume theres stocks around?
Are those the ones that blow up and take your eye out?
Stocks are available as far as I know mate. I would hazard a guess that this one having had a bit of cash splashed on it it would of been fixed.
Iām not to familiar with the explosions but itās bolt head related and refitting this with a 6 n a half tube would of required a new bolt face.
I reckon its maybe a good question to ask how many rounds have been down that tube. The stock is not exactly a target style on the other hand is new and probably cost him $275-300. Not an issue to finish up nicely. It could be a good starting rifle for you. 6.5 is a really good accuracy wise and recoil wise I think if its not had too many down the tube go for it. It would be a gun that you can use at the range and get really good scores and learn well with. Happy to help finish the stock off with you we can fit a bipod rail to take a target bipod and put a qd stud in for harris. It becomes a bit of a heavy skippy gun much like my Rem 700 308 but at home on the range.
Here ya go, ready to go out of the box⦠@AusTac

Correction:
Minus optics and bipod.
Have you even decided on the calibre?
Nope, still stuck but leaning towards a long 24" + .308 at this particular time or a 6.5 but still more researching to be done
Whatās there to research? Look at ballistic tables, pick distance you wants to shoot at and see what has better performance⦠Simples.
Also check out some 7mm magnums, thatās really what you want.
There is more to it than that. The Ruger Precision is as heavy as. If competing (even if your not but) and want to fit in a class it is important to put your weight were it is important. First that is in the barrel not the stock. The stocks are often the lightest that can be achieved.
Iām a little stuck on velocities between custom barrels with tighter chambers and throats, and factory barrels, as well as powder burns on 308 reloads in relation to ideal barrel length and how much velocity is lost per inch of barrel, and ballistic coefficentls of projies and what max loads are in each calibre, then recoil is a, consideration, calibre projie case / component availability, things like scope bases/after market accessories for my chosen action, off the shelf ammo availability and probably a few more things i canāt think of off the top of my head at the moment, iām not in any rush though i still have my lithgow to shoot in the meantime, i want to do it but i want to do it right this time
Screw the 308. Get a 7mm short magnum and spit 162gn bullets at 3050fpsā¦
@juststarting i want to shoot 3kms so i need a .408 cheytac, thats it fellas, iām buying it today!
If you want to go whole hog and buy from a shopā¦
