What I did in guns this week.

Thats what my targets start out like in air pistol. By the third target its tightened up and 70% of the shots are in the black.

@JSS Yep, cheers. I got some advice from someone who looked at my groups and grip and advised me to use more of my trigger fingers pad and less of the joint.
That, and going through the trigger stages reeeallly slowly had almost instant results. :+1:

Then there is this chart which also might help…

I used a fellow Air Pistol shooters Steyr LP10 or LP70 whatever its called. He has big man dick hands like me, and whilst its a lot heavier than the club Hammerli airguns, its steadier and easier to correct. The gun I mean.
I put all 10 in the black for the first time, I think this was my sixth time shooting air.

Awesome! The LP10 is a very nice gun. Air is a great handgun trainer

Got this nice little bunny from 26m with a 1⅓ oz load of 2’s over 3 drams 2f out of my Hollis and sons hammer gun

Ruined a perfectly decent Service Match score on the second last string at 7 yards. :frowning: I cannot wait six months to be able to take gun from to the range and just get that sweeet sweeeeet practice in.

Also got to shoot the CZ Shadow 02 Blue. It fits really nice, not perfect but much better than 90% of other autos. Im so excited to get one. Suprisingly…heavy isn’t the word…well weighted. I like. I like a lot.

I finally got around to converting 223 to 7.62x25 brass. Test fire and all, worked really well. Only made a few rounds to test feasibility, but now I think it will be a bulk piece of work at some stage. Will post on that separately. Certainly cheaper than Starline.

And I went to the range today, made it a 22LR rifle kind of day, 6 hours, 500+ rounds and one broken bolt later - fun day with few ideas. And yeah… No 2MkIV bolt head snapper :frowning: Will need to see a gun doctor. Not happy, but at least it’s getting use. Other than that, as always, plinking attracted usual Sunday arvo range loiterers and I think I am going to try to setup a “mini rifle” or IPSC-like comp. Facilities are there, just need to research some rules and think about stage setup.

Overall, pretty productive shooting kind of a week.

No, mine were wearing steel plate body armour and standing in a neat row

Took the AyA out looking for foxes ( and possibly deer ! ) this morning. No luck though

I dont know much about AyA (SxS double trigger whats not to like?), but I know I like that belt. Thats a nicely made piece of leather. Is that one of your mates again?

Are Starlings getting out of control down your way? The ones we used to get on our back yard in East Malvern were never that colorful.

Nah its just made by Dingo leather products. Too be honest I don’t really like it,it slips down my arse all the time and annoys shit out of me.

Starlings aren’t out of control but there’s plenty of them. That’s their breeding plumage.

Interesting thing about the AyA…I did a bit of research on it and if I’m reading things correctly its a model 4 boxlock ejector built in 1975 and was worth £5000 when it was new…
