The big fat COVID-19 thread.

Only option perhaps is to have the federal government take over. I don’t know if it is a good option, but it certainly can’t be a worse option.

That would be a breach of the constitution.

Well, in that case refer to my previous statement.

Sooooo… Who’s from Brisbane? Ready for a funny 1 April joke that’s not really a joke from your premier? Yeah… Hrmmm…

Oooo, she didn’t pull an andrews.

I think she weighed up any possible benefits of an extra few days of lockdown vs the damage it would do to her and came up with the correct answer. But to be honest i was expecting it to go the other way.
Our house didn’t care either way as we’re all dying of the flu so already pulled the pin on our Easter trip.

This is the exact thing that went through my mind… “The damage it will do to her”. Sad.

The old covid’s definitely one of the most popular political tools they’ve got to play with atm, i was watching the news this morning how the State & Fed govs were blaming each other for the slow vaccine rollout. Bunch of useless wankers on both sides lol.

Sad but true… :frowning:

Get ready for snap lockdown Victoria. Grab that TP and flour, lmao fuck it, I need a reloading session anyway.

I think we need to re-name the Australian strain to COVIC.

Thats exactly fkn why i can’t come over at the moment god fkn damn it, like i got shit to do over in Vic!

Man…we are gonna get absolutely F’d in the A when covid finally escapes the Howard Springs quarantine place. I mean, we in Darwin just have NO IDEA about what the rest of the country has been experiencing and thank heavens because we are the last mob you want to try and lock down. There would be mass arrests and riots. Territorians are the lowest IQ and most violent in the country.

We have been SO LUCKY.

Thoughts and prayers, mexicans. Thoughts and prayers. Darwin is absolutely BOOMING as far as food and entertainment is going. Nearly ran out of beer. Soon…Corona-Chan will be visiting us. The price of our ignorance will be high. :open_mouth:

Yep, my Brother came down in a lull between lockdowns. Apparently people were trying to escape Howard springs in wheelie bins etc…

I work from CBD a couple of days… And from home other days. I noticed that where I am (which is more or less a popular area) - it’s hectic. Everything is packed, people are out, I am struggling to find parking when I go grocery shopping. However, CBD itself is dead. It’s miserable to watch what the c*nt did to it. People are out like never before, but I think the habits may have changed. Out locally, rather than centrally. And it will never change unless full office capacity restrictions are lifted. That said, it may never change because a lot of companies are now abandoning their offices with remote workforce. It has changed things (I think for the better).

Mass vaccination centres: are you guys within visual range?
Hearing that during the week they are ghost towns, but come Sunday they are packed.

Vaccination centres?

Yeah, like Melbourne Exhibition Centre

Apparebtly they are ghost towns during the week, but flat out Sunday because you get two days off work=long weekend hehe!

No idea.

Howard Springs not that bad mate, if people can’t handle a few weeks in there then they are bloody weak. In saying that I guess it’s not for everyone. They taking security fairly seriously there. Wheelie bin a great idea though.
