Thanks mate, plan us to use it for pigs, I’ve never hunted them before and people keep telling me that a single shots not the best option as they can get a bit grumpy.
I’ve always liked the .243 and @juststarting Ruger American 7.62 commi seemed like a good rugged knock around gun.
I just need to find time to get out and hunt now.

Well, about to dive into the world of tunable air rifles. Because i also want to shoot air rifle comps i had to stick with 17cal. Got some 16gn slugs coming for it.

Nice. Dont know about now but back in my day the 17 cal was the go as the 22 was just not that accurate. Probably all due to velocity.
I think you’re right but they have so much power these days they get the big bore air rifles shooting really well. Going to put the thermal on it and shoot the mice in the bird cage hopefully.

I dug another hole dad! It’s filling with guns…
Picked this little fella up this morning.
Ruger American in .243 with a lucky 13 mag kit and 2 10rnd mags.
Its a good knock around bush gun, its only been driven to the range on Sunday’s apparently.
I only paid $750 for it, came with a 3-9 Tasco in the worlds highest rings. I’ll swap the rings out soon.
I’m not sure when, but I’ve been invited to come and shoot some pigs out west, a bloke i know has access to 3 huge properties out there somewhere.
