She’s a good doggo

Got a new pup to replace the one we lost to a snake bite. He’s from the same parents and has a lot of the same quirks. Here he is beside his adopted big brother.

Good on ya mate. I know all the feelings that go with the drama and know how overwhelming the whole process is. To be able to replace him with a pup from the same parents is certainly a perfect option. He wont be the same just enough to be his own person but similar enough to help with the days you think I miss … doing …

These guys seem to have settled into new digs pretty well…

Toby (12) and Jessie (15)

Jessie thinks she’s a cat
Toby has enough Kelpie in him to jump 1.8m fences or try and climb trees and get stuck

Keen to get an Australian Shepard now we have a bigger place but these guys are in it for the long haul…

“Baron Igor Alexander” (means Noble Warrior Protector), because “Bluey” was taken a couple million times over apparently.

He’s my 38kg Amstaf softie, as soft as a bag filled with rocks if he hits you at speed, and turning 3 y/o in December.

A big part of me wishes I wasnt posting this. Still miss Ellie every day even with this pretty ball of fluff to love and supervise non stop. Her name is Jess. Yes from Footrot flats fame.

Watch the video and you will know most of the reasons for her name.

Its a bit late now but I have found the old farmers trick of tying the dead chook around the dogs neck and putting the dog on his chain for a hour or two. During that time walk past the dog and give him the look of shame and a bad dog remark or two and problem fixed. Has worked for me on three previous occasions. New pup is only interested in a bit of a chase not catching them so far.

When my rooster showed up dead on the back door step, I did the same. Never attacked a chook again.

To be fair, the rooster was a psycho & probably started something it couldn’t finish with my terrier.
