It’s all just mock up at this stage. I want to reblue it or maybe even get it ceracoated even and the stock needs work to fit my hand properly and probably paint it up some bright stupid colour.
Please dont paint it. It is too nice as it is. It has that special spy look to it just professional enough while still having that mad scientist diy look about it.
Uh, fuck, too late, you already circumcised the stock, I see. Well, in that case, you could I suppose remove shellack and refinish the wood, Danish oil would be my suggestion, but that’s it.
The barrel on mine has been turned down and threaded with some random thread so they could screw about 15cm of barrel extension on to increase the sight radius, but it was loose and if you tightened it up the sights where not aligned. I could of shimmed it, but I wanted a red dot (maybe a scope later) so the front sight was redundant anyway.
With the full barrel extension on it it doesn’t fit in my pistol safe either as the barrel is a foot long already.
The stock has been for made for laying down like
But with all the engineering in my back nowadays I think playing twister with a gun is off the menu. I left enough fore end so it can be shot like a stock less rifle still.
Once I work out what the tread actually is on the muzzle I’ll make or modify a muzzle brake to fit it.
In short I’m just refining the extensive Bubbafication that’s already occured.
Even after shortening it, THE MUZZLE BRAKE, NOT THE BARREL OR ANY PART THATS LEGALLY THE FIREARM, it only just fits in my pistol safe with the bolt removed.
I feel a whole lot better now thanks. Sorry for the accusations Its just a pet thing not to deface historical stuff. But only if it is orig and in good nick. I have experimented with re blueing or parkerizing a old 303 which I was hesitant to do even though it was not a great condition or even good example.
Just keep an eye out for those toes have seen enough of your toes in not so great condition.
It is so Russian Hit man that I had to Google it and read all about it. Glad to be inspired to do that. It will be a hit at the range and a timeless talking piece. I bet it will shoot better than it looks will just make it more interesting to people.
That’s 8 shots from 50m, shot off a rest, but still, red dot and 50m I’m stoked. This was with CCI standard.
Will do more testing with some different ammos soon.
Greener miniature club rifle .22LR
I don’t have a date on it yet, but it’s definitely over a hundred years old (found one online 1000 serial numbered before mine. It’s from 1914).
I got this pretty cheap thanks to another member here, $200 posted from Tassie and then registered and transferred up here in NSW. Bloody bargain for a piece of history like this.
I’m a big fan of Greener Martini actions.
This is the gunge coming out of the barrel, which if you squint sort of still has some rifling in it. I’m not expecting it to be a tack driver (which in its youth it would of been) getting old is hard on us all. Lol
Has anyone tried Longs in their 515 ? Will it cycle longs or should I just put them through my 1906? I’ve got a couple of boxes of .22 long solids that probably wont group that well. And I wouldn’t trust them on bunnies.
