Hi. Many of the crew here will know me already from other forums. For those that don’t, im a 47 year old hairy one from Adelaide Hills with too many hobbies including hunting with rifles, shotties and bows, fishing, riding horses…

G’day all
Just another bloke who enjoys the finely crafted tools we know as firearms. Live in QLD near Bundy, mainly interested in rifles especially the old military Mausers. Look forward to shooting the breeze and learning a thing or two and hopefully finding some other military rifle users near me.

Cheers Bushy

Hey
Ye I think I a grand intro is in order.

G’day mate and welcome!
An intro can’t hurt, not everyone here will know you.

Gday fellas

New to this forum, however have been a member of one other. I mainly hunt, but head to the range a few days a month to shoot a few targets.

Welcome Cavok good to have you onboard. This is not an Inquisition just curious to learn more about your shooting, so what guns do you hunt with? What do you take to the range?

Well here goes The name is Ian I shoot at the range in St Mary Silverdale or Malabar at least once a week I will admit manly St Mary now days its just so easy to get to from my place about 20 min.
I am a fitter -machinist by trade and to call me someone who tinkers a bit would be a gross understatement to the point of it being destructive in some cases lol.
I bought my first firearm in Blacktown near 50 years ago in Kmart traveled home on the train and never shot anyone ( I do not like where the world is going regarding people who get offended easy their problem not mine)
Anyway I shoot pistol rifle and shotgun not as good as I used to the eyes are a bit of a problem nowadays but its still fun I like to hunt but have not in a long time finding the time is hard still have the R licence but most of the farms i used to shoot on the owner have either moved away or moved on up to the happy hunting grounds .

G’day all. Just signed up here, and see a few familiar faces from another forum and the Ausguns sub-reddit.

I’m from Canberra, and split my weekdays between working a desk job in IT and constantly refreshing usedguns. Come the weekend, I like to get out and do just about anything outdoors.

I finally took up shooting about a year ago. My main focus of shooting is hunting, but I’d like to start getting more time at the range practising. I’ve always been attracted to the idea of being more connected to the food I eat, and generally being self sufficient. I think there’s a small part of me that can identify with doomsday preppers, except I’m ultimately too lazy to do any actual prepping.

I generally just lurk about and try to learn as much as I can without asking too many stupid questions - but I’m looking forward to being able to actually give back something eventually! Until then, I’m about to embark on hand loading, so I’m sure I’ll be hanging around the reloading category.

Welcome geech! Finally, another geek! What do you do in IT?

As I have pointed out before, doomsday prepping in Australia is easy, just get ammo, the rest can be ‘negotiated’ with said ammo from the antis

Most people here hand load, so ask away, there is heaps of knowledge here. Also, what are you shooting and reloading for?
