You mean you need to satisfy a fetish?
A little disappointed. The specific (flat nose) bullet does not land well to seat-crimp die that I am using. Which is a bummer, I was hopping to use the same projectile for both carbine and revolver. Will try the same type from different maker when I am out (which will be very soon).
C’mon fellas, surely I am not the only one doing mad science here.
There was a member forming 577 cases, he might post up some photos of his progress…
Just doing some load development for my 6.5x55 using AR2209 and 147gr Hornady ELD match projectiles.
This would have to be one of the best investments that I have made.
Have had it for quite a few years now, since it was first released, and makes reloading so much quicker and more importantly more accurate.
I want it so hard much. But I have a 22LR addiction.
Sounds like it’s time for an intervention, problem is I don’t know anyone on here that doesn’t suffer an addiction of their own
Ye I can see how that intervention would go… What, you bought a gun!
…then everyone would start yelling abuse because I only bought one.
After winning tonight’s 80m Tatts I may be able to scratch that itch of the guns I would like to buy, There are so many more now than ever before since reading this forum. There are some truly great art pieces across all from 22s to 50s and in the shotguns and some of those gun and rifle combos drool.
Sounds like you will have to build a walk in gun safe
80m that would be good.
Ohh bigger I forgot to buy the ticket… and I even know the numbers now. Maybe next time.
Also I suppose too embarrassed to post up pictures if my messy reloading closet
Messy just means used, it’s a tidy reloading area I’d be embarrassed about!
When ever I clean up my reloading bench I can’t find anything.
Well, here we go again, dust off those cob webs of my furnace and let it rip… 2 years worth of 7 1/2 shot (i keep the shot and convert shells to slugs). So, what does 2 years worth of shot give you - about 130 Snider 577 pills at 500+gr of awesomeness.
Way too cold to work in the backyard, so cracked the garage door open, pushed the fumes out and mask on…
About 130 Snider pills.
30cal Sierra TMK 168gr for reference. They ain’t small.
Also, casting shit this size is not exactly rinse and repeat. Mould gets too hot, needs to cool, need to hold it much more firmly than normal mould because it sips out, etc. But after casting slugs and 577-450, I think I got the hang of it. Anyway…
I thought to myself, I am already here and it’s cold again, since the the furnace is off, so lets turn the oven on… Added a bit of modern touch to this babies and powder coated them.
Preheat…
commercial break
All done and coated.
another commercial break
and lubbed.
So I think all up this just shy of 3 hours of work, give or take.
But what I am really trying to say here, is that it was the last time, that prick @bentaz makes his pet baby dinosaur chase me around the paddock. No more!
Oh and I missed the fun part… Scraping lube from the base of the bullet. Yeah, that was fun. Clamped a piece of aluminium rod in the vice and used that, made things go a lot faster than before.
Did you steal the kids crayons again for your lube lol?
Nah, I made a big batch the first time. Still using that.
