I know still pics to come. Tomorrow I want to do a comparison type photo if I can.

On another note I was reading the Redding website ending up there from some other topic. I read the blurb on the Original Big Boss and the Big Boss2 now I have a bit of Redding equipment and hold it in high regard I think some of the best made stuff. So on these presses they boast about 3.8 inches of useable Ram Stroke so I did the math *25.4 and it comes out to 96.52 well both the Cheap Lee press has this and the Classic cast slightly more at about 115mm both cast and have a 1 inch ram.

So on that note I felt a bit better.

Yesterday I did a bit of fiddling and was able to remove the Ram from the press. At a certain point it felt or at least made a sound like there was a scratch or something happening. Once the Ram was removed everthing looked OK but I did put a little bit of wet and dry sandpaper over the surface where the primers drop down. Dont really want that stippled paint type surface there. Also put a piece of 800 grit wet and dry around a steel shaft and gave the shaft hole a little touch up. Not sure that this did much the surface was not a mirror surface to begin with more a ribbed surface which may hold a bit of oil better but I smoothed it out just a tiny bit certainly not to mirror. Also gave the Top and Bottom edge a slight chamfer the shaft hole is 4-5 inches long so no lateral movement at all.

Hope that is not to erotic for our Admins just wait for the pics. :joy:

I have a big boss 2, very happy with it.

Few hours of playing with Lego. Got most things figured out.

Soooon. Soooooooon.

I guess it’s just the angle of the photo but it looks very close to the shelf.

Yeah, you’re right. Optical illusion, I guess. It’s actually in front over 1m from the shelf.

@1Fatman better view:

…and some freshness:

Yep a lot better photo.
Now those look pretty and must go atleast 300fps faster being red lol.

I bought a 1000 of these (Black Widow) and 500 Tiger Sharks. I am going to go through both and see what I like better. I haven’t decided what I like better. Tiger Shark are really expensive to ship here, compared to actual cost of bullets. BW is local, so that will most likely be the biggest factor. Will see how I go. May try HRBC as well, at some stage. I buy 44 and 357 from HRBC (my go to), so probably will order some and give them a go as well.

With the Tiger Sharks if you spend $199 Or more it’s free postage.

Oh! Didn’t know. Good to know! Will blast the ones I have and go from there. Definitely good to know.

They even deliver to WA but to Perth

So what powder and how much did you use?
I think that you said that you were going to use 115 or 125 grain projectiles.

Yep, bullets are 125gr. Charged with AP50N.

First batch I made were 3gr, which handled great, but just didn’t have that feel I wanted lol

This batch moved up to 3.2gr. With a thrower error margin… Max is 3.6, so I’ll see how this feels and either stop here or keep moving up.

I don’t want them anaemic, but I am aiming for easy handling below factory loads.

Will be interesting to see what the velocity is oon each load.
Do you have or are you going to put them through a chronograph?

You will have to find out what the PF is for IPSC.

No and yes, respectively. I think 3.2 may scrape in. 3.3 definitely should. 3.6 is recommended max, so I’m fairly confident that 3.2 should be good.

I really liked how 3.0 handled. Just trying to stay close to that and make the PF.

Here is a reloading chart that I got from Tigershark when they sent me my projectiles, I got 135 grain round nose.

I think that the PF for minor is around 120 - 125

Yep, looks fine to me. Will be interesting to test, but I am not concerned.

After (1 hour in tumbler)

Sexy 38spc goodness.
