Gun adds I wish I could buy!

Yup I have an Enfield too, didn’t pay 2 bloody grand for it though!

I paid nothing for mine, about what its worth. Barrel is rooted.
Anyone got a spare Martini Enfield barrel?

Seller seems somewhat confused, or perhaps just ignorant. A Martini Enfield is ALWAYS an Enfield, just as a Martini Metford can be nothing else but. So no, a bloody Enfield is not, can not, be known as a bloody Metford! If it was a mint condition Metford $2200 would be a good price but as an Enfield it would need to be near un-issued to pull that price.

Bad news Wombat, good Martini barrels are very hard to come by in any calibre and as far as I know no one is making replicas. The cost of getting a blank and having one custom made is prohibitive. Keep the one you have as a wall hanger and buy another one to shoot, Cheers.

Ever since shooting @danmac s one of these, ive wanted one , probably the coolest lever action ever!

Now thats an interesting piece. I gather that’s the magazine just in front of the lever???

yeah mate, it top loads like a bolt gun

Nice, pricey though it looks in good knick.

He’s been trying to sell that one for ages.
Fair bit overpriced in my book. Considering 293818 were made for the Russian contract out of a total production run of just under 426000 it was hardly the rarest model.

Serge sold one at the last gun show for $2200, but without the bayonet which run about $600 for the long one, (much much more for the short one). For pure drool, a brand new, never shipped 1915 made Russian Contract rifle was sold from the Winchester Factory Museum at RIA last Nov for US$13,800, Bargain! As for the one shown, if he dropped a K off that I would give it some thought, Cheers.

I picked up mine , a 1904 sporting rifle in .35 WCF, ( one of the scarcest calibres ), in very good condition with an excellent bore , for $1200 U.S back when we were on parity. I was bringing in a few rifles back then so as part of a 4 gun shipment import costs were about $250 per rifle.
Great gun to use, light, handy and packs a whollop.

Can be ordered with a touch hole from the maker. .75 cal was chosen as it is acceptable at all ranges on any day, where as my 40mm can only be used on declared cannon days at ranges that accept such ordnance. Or up at the property to scare mynahs away.

Got to ask no1mk3 , was that the 1895 Russian contract at the melbourne gun show?

G’day Field Marshal,
Yes, Serge Vercion was selling it, a young friend of mine bought it. Needed to fiddle with the mag spring ( a known weakness with this model) but it is working very well now, Cheers

Cheers no1.
I have been looking at that one for the last few shows. Hopefully your friend can find a bayonet that wont cost an arm and leg.
