True story, as above, then an old timer comes up to me… Mate, that’s a bit of coin in there (box of 577/450), where did you buy that?
I loaded it. Oh, right, right.
And um, bullets?
I cast them. Oh, uh, right, right.
Would you like some, I have a few (projectiles that is)?
Oh, um, oh, nahhh…
It’s as if there’s two parts of his brain, one yelling you punk, the other is yelling, I want me some of that brass… And the dots are not connecting.
Those retards you see driving around with neon lights under their whoosh whoosh cars and their caps on backwards are usually on their way home with a brand new muzzle break to jerk off to. The only other people who have them are sissy bitches with pigtails who want to be a sniper or little boys with glass shoulders.
But each to their own, the rest of us don’t judge…well much anyway.
Haha I’m getting a Muzzle Break. If people can’t handle a bit of noise in this hobbie, they’re in the wrong hobbie. 20-40% less recoil on an already low recoiling gun is still 20-40% less recoil.
Surely it can’t be any louder than the guy in the corner firing a .300 Win or .338 Lapua.
Oooof a lot to unpack there, but I have nothing to prove, And mb makes it sooo smooth and comfy. So, as I said, those who get offended by noise at a shooting range should probably pick a different hobby.
Nah, they are pretty loud and you’d want to double up on hearing pro when you are in the tacticool section of Lt River. And you get all sorts of shit flying back into shooters faces too (on both sides)… I was shooting next to a guy with something pretty big by the looks and sound of it and I got the best skin exfoliation ever (also the only, but I imagine the best). And had to pop ear plugs in as well, under the headphones.
Don’t be too quick to puff your chest up until you know what you’re talking about.
You do whatever you like, it was just a tip how to not piss the majority of the range off when you may be asking them for advice or help. Goodluck.
Fun fact about MB… You budget… It will set you back whatever it will set you back + sub-200 for threading the barrel and maybe another 50 or 100 for getting a cap made for the barrel, in case you want to take the MB off, so you don’t have an exposed thread.
Anyhow, to cycle back are you in a queue to do a safety course or are you waiting on licence, what’s going on in that department?
More so just the traditional disciplines like benchrest and anything to do with Wara. Our club out bush is fine with brakes for whatever and a bigger club i shoot at you can use brakes for long range precision but just need to leave a gap.
I personally don’t get the issue. You should be wearing hearing protection any way and if a bit of hot wind puts you off, train harder. Shooting next to a braked cheytac is good practice.
TBH I’m not really into rifle ranges that much but it wouldn’t surprise me if some don’t allow them, i know the SSAA one i go to for sighting in & playing with new scopes or running in a new gun has a special area where they have to go if they want to use MBs, and everyone there seems to hate them with a passion, especially the ROs.
Lt River (Vic) is a massive SSAA (open to public) range here. Shoot whatever you want… I was a member of a shotgun club once, until they banned Adler, I stopped paying membership fees. I wasn’t even using an Adler… Fucking WA, again, where even gun clubs are anti-gun, FMD where does this stop with them.
Safety course done, got my game license and joined SSAA for my genuine reasons and sent off the paperwork last Thursday.
It’s all trackable Online now and I was able to see exactly when they recieved the electronic section as well as the hard copy and it’s currently being processed.
I don’t know if I’ll get a notification as soon as it’s approved or if it won’t come up until the 28 days is up.
But yeah the Safety Course is no where near as long of a wait as it used to be. Victoria Police now outsource it and it must have been very recently, as the one I did was the first one the guy had ran. He said he plans on doing them weekly depending on the amount of names.
I called up asking about the next one last Monday, then he held it last Wednesday and I submitted everything on Thurs. So yeah from the time I wanted to get my license to the time I handed everything in was under 2 weeks.
Outstanding. But did you know, you actually don’t need to be a SSAA member, your game licence is enough for genuine reason? In fact, $15 letter from DWELP or whatever that department is called this says is all you need? Like, you need a reason, but only one, SSAA is not one of them. If you going to frequent Lt River often enough, the discount will make sense, but all in all not needed.
Different range… People shoot cannons and 50 cals there. I am beginning to think from everything I read and hear that Lt river might actually be the best range in Australia.
