Well so far it’s been a bit of a non event here really, although the power is out but who gives a damn because the gennie is humming along. Sadly though we lost a tree (well half a tree) which took out the neighbours power line which went of with a flash & a bang
I reported it when it happened at about 1am & now we just have to wait for Energex crews to come & sort it out which could be hours or days I guess.
Fair bit of flooding around. a lot of that rain they keep talking about at Dorrigo comes through here. Most of the roads out of town are under now and the rivers still rising.
All really fucking boring compared to what I prepared for.
I know how you feel. We were getting text warnings saying shit like FIND COVER NOW!! Get to the strongest structural part of your house with no windows and huddle up and don’t move until it’s over. If things get calm that’s just the eye do not move or go outside! Naturally we completely ignored the advice but I thought Oh fuck yeah its coming. Then nothing, what a letdown.
Yeah WA’s fucked, pretty disappointed with that outcome, glad i’m leaving to be honest, fuck this sandy fly ridden shit hole, all those city wankers can enjoy the state they’ve created, sell all your 4wds and camping/fishing gear, soon you’ll just have to stay home and watch netflix all day
In great news firearms branch are advising people you can get a free “PTA” to replace your “prohibited” lever release with “a firearm of comparable calibre and ballistic performance”
You reckon I should try and get a Taipan 223 to replace my cz515?
Looking at the count so far, the regions (basically 90% of the states land mass) who are the most negatively impacted by Labor policies have overwhelming voted against them. Unfortunately given the boundary changes this means only 6 total seats out of 59. No chance for regions to have a say for a long time.
