Bored shit-posting

Yep some people are just unlucky in the gene lottery. That’s what black coffee is for.

All jokes aside me and GUN-DMC have some unlucky genes in common. I just hope he’s as successful at dodging it as I have been so far.

Why would people be intolerant of a journal? :joy:

There’s only one soy milk I like but I really do enjoy that one… oat milk, on the other hand… Now come on!

Yeah and all those nut milks, they are s@#$!

Soy milk??? Told you that you Mexicans are a strange lot.

I used to think soy tasted like dog food, but now I’m used to it and cow tastes like arse to me.

Its soy Juice. Fark me milk comes from a mammal.

Bloody marketing.

You know, I’m not a big fan of either. But if you think about it, I’d rather eat a vegetable extract, than suck on some arbitrary animal’s titties.

Its not arbitary, not like every time you buy a bottle it could be a different animal  Cows are great, real milk from a cow is great love the stuff, even better is ice cream, live on it with chocolate topping :grinning:.

We’ve been getting our milk from a local organic dairy for the last year or so. Non homogenised, in old fashioned reuse glass bottles, straight from one herd and processed on farm… The difference in taste between this stuff and the local ‘commercial’ dairy producer is incredible; for the first time in years I actually enjoy drinking a glass of milk!

Only issue is that it may vary in taste. sometimes going quite yucky.

When I was in Austria I was staying just up the road form this little local diary. I mean small just a couple of Acres if that maybe 20 cows, dairy and living quarters for cows under house when it gets cold. The really neat thing about this dairy was it had a coin operated dispensary on the outside. You bring your own jug, put your coins in and get your daily milk. All straight from the cow no homogenized or even pasteurized. I will post a photo when I can dig it out.

A display in the local castle of the village.

I think the first time I saw it was before digital cameras. I am sure I took another post digital.

This place has been very consistent for the past 15 months. I’m tipping your coin operated dairy had some questionable practices when it comes to sanitation and herd management.

The common practice for all the farmers to bring there herd into the under house stables for the winter. The used straw was piled up on the nature strip in a pile about the size of a pallet. The farms were small this was in a suburban type setting.

The practices may not have been not up to our Australian food regulations but in Europe they have a bit more freedoms and right to choose for yourself. The equipment was pretty modern they would cut Silage from a small plot like we would cut the grass ie regularly then feed it to the cows. Keeps the cows from shitting where they eat and walking on the ground pugging it up damaging grass growth. They are also Austrians so are a very particular people with a natural tendency to do things the right way with an eye to quality.

I found this with goat milk. It was recommended I try it when I had to give up the cow, stuff that came from the supermarket tasted like an old Billy goats ball sack but I had some that came from a local small holding that was fresh that day and it was totally different and really nice.
