Text analysis tool indicated caesar cipher, then from that get httpsā¦ downloadā¦ file.bin ā¦Turns out that contained base64 data, tried converting that to a hex and a few other formats. It became aparent that it was a pic, so started messing about trying to convert the file content to jpg image.
Struggling and a bit stumped at that point tbhā¦
Then the bread crumb you gave me about think more about file type, got me back on track. Played around for some time and finally identified file type as gzip. Decoded base64 to file aplication.gz and extracted it. And bamā¦ almost fell off my chair when it workedā¦ 
pretty amateur aproach, but it worked lolā¦
Maybe Iām starting to evolve, all be it extremely slowlyā¦

Yep, the encodings, I been looking at them long enough to know what they are by just recognising format. Beyond that, Iād decode to a file, run file type command, manually assign extension (e.g. zip or whatever), process, rinse, repeatā¦ Same as you really, just with benefit of knowing tools.

Ok cool, yeah Iām still learning to identify the various code. Itās a lot to absorb, especially when you know fark all about this stuffā¦ The pup got me a Pi with the bread board etcā¦ for my last birthday and has been teaching me Python to start with. Itās handy to have someone to ask questions to and show me better ways to implement/format my code.
Iāve got a looong way to go before I learn enough to create anything of real use, but Iām really enjoying the learning process.
Funny story about that, probably for the Lounge though lol

More that it seems whenever something bad happens within hours they have laws/legislation ready to parade it in front of the public and slap it down on the table and be like " this will prevent more tragedy " certainly not fake rf whatever but rather than just being an event that happend the facts always seem to get swept under the carpet, think about the vegas shooter, what was the outcome there? Things just disappear and theres no logical outcome rather just knee jerk reactions

Absolutely not true, whatever is paraded has been ready and waiting. Iāll completely agree, a lot of emotional based politics or security theatre, if you want to get technical. However, none of that is magic. Biden for example (what youāre referring to) never hid his agenda and in fact ran on it. So I am not sure where this shock-horror is coming from. They could be linked to score political points, but they are not related.
