I managed to get a good deal on these pair of nice little levers.
A chiappa La322 (Marlin 39 clone) and a Norinco Jw21 (9422 clone)
Surprisingly nice little guns. As usual the Norinco is more impressive than it has a right to be.
Hopefully they shoot fairly straight. Real ones of each would be nice but these will satisfy the urge for now.

Any feed failures? Can you shoot it fast?
I shot it very fast… And I didn’t have any feeding failures. Ejection is excellent too. If I were to describe the bolt feel, closest I can suggest is an after-market chassis feel. Like, not butter smooth like Tikka, but has a very positive feel. Anyhow, so far I am in love with it.

Are the kits a DIY job at home, or does it still need to go to a gunsmith?
Also, is that 9mm? Pistol calibre rifles look fun as.
It has to go to a gunsmith, @Tempestman. And you’re absolutely correct, pistol calibre rifles are looooooooooots of fun. This one is 45ACP however.
Gunsmith…Meh…in saying that, I have only headspaced 2 rifles for other people…I have done more for myself…The challenge with one of those SIA kit builds would be reliable cycling/function.
One of these in 38 special would be awesome also…

Yeah if I didnt have the Cadet, I would have the M77/357 now. Still waiting on my Colt carbine Grrr!!! Pistol caliber carbines have taken my interest of late, so much fun! An smle pistol caliber carbine done right, would be the bomb!
Yeah, pistol calibres out of a rifle is just so much fun to plink with, if you’re not in the mood for a 22. Packs a punch, cheap, easy on the shoulder, what’s not to like.
