I did ask about the actual case kicker, but U.S. shipping is like $40. That’s USD. Plus the part. So I will be going the DIY route.
Turns out, you can swage primers lol
So that’s what happens when you put a square peg in a round hole.
Nothing is impossible. LOL
That’s a good effort. Better than upside down, sideways is far more difficult. I applaud your efforts.
Not so much reloading porn but the collection for the upcoming upgrade of my reloading room has begun.
Decided to see how feasible it is to load Luger on a single stage press. Resized/decapped just shy of 1,000 cases tonight. Yep, buying a Dillon.
Thing about it, is pretty much the combination of everything. Small cases to deal with at volume, when processing. Need to carefully ram them into the die, because they are so small and straight-wall they catch on the edge of the die. Crushed 2, which is fine, but adjustment slowed me down a lot.
Then flaring, priming, charging, seating and crimping * 1000. Which is just too hard on a single stage or anything that splits operations. Yep…
That was my original plan but on my turret press, but once I sat down and thought about the steps involved I decided that the Dillon was the way to go.
Yeah, just sizing it was an activity and a half.
Time to save your pocket money up.
You setting up your own factory?
Close, still got more to go lol.
How can you not open it the minute it gets in the door? At least use the excuse it need to be checked for damage to be reported back.
Trust me, 20 seconds after I took the photo there was paper and wrapping going in all directions.
The smallest 3 are just full of projectiles lol.
Nice one. Love new toy days. What bits and pieces did you get? Going the full bullet and case feeder route?
Yep, xl650 press with bullet and projectile feeder (as I am a lazy bugger), stocked up on cleaning gear, Sinclair/Wilson case trimmer with micrometer and base, Tipton best gun vice, 10k of projectiles with 1500 still to come, tools, press, wet tumbler, dehydrator, case prep centre, storage bits to put everything in and more.
Some of it is just stocking up, some is to replace old worn out gear and some because it was something that I needed or wanted.
Still to come are bits for the reloading bench upgrade plus the new pistols we brought (if the licensing department hurries up lol)
