Online Maps and State Forest

For a fair while I have been using free online maps to scout possible hunting spots.
Just lately I have noticed a couple of changes, Google maps no longer shows State forests

the grey area in the pic should be Enfield SF, they used to show state forest and I’m not sure why its changed.
At the same time as State Forest disappeared from google maps a disclaimer appeared on the Forest Explorer maps

so now our main source of map data has basically come out to admit their maps might be wrong!
It seems to me that the maps we pay our state gov to provide us with should have some sort of guaranteed accuracy, I can see shooters ending up in the poo while trying to do the right thing.

This is another site I stumbled apon that seems to have pretty good maps too.

From another post.

The forest explorer maps with the Victorian Game Management Authority overlays.

I thought I might resurrect this zombie thread with a nifty little app I’ve found.

Called “More to Explore”, a vic gov app that shows hunting, fishing , camping 4wd zones and much more for any outdoor enthusiasts.

It’s free and easy to use.

This might be old news for some but I only found it recently.
