Most reliable cap configuration

Hi BP guru’s! Just wondering what’s regarded as the most reliable percussion ignition source? No11 caps or Enfield type musket caps? What’s the difference?
Thanks in advance…

I believe musket caps are meant to burn hotter for longer, but I’ve never used them so have no real world data to offer. No.11 caps have always worked fine for me,only ignition issues I’ve ever had stem from my own failings

Use whatever the gun comes with originally. If it has a nipple for #11 caps, use those. Comes with a nipple for musket caps, use them. I’ve seen a fellow have his rifle converted from #11 nipple to one that takes musket caps, believing that it would give him better ignition from the hotter cap, the result was that every time he fired it, he got a face full of hot sparks, not pleasant.
My cap and ball Remington .44 pistol uses #11 caps to ignite about 25gr of 3F, so does my .45 cal Gibbs muzzle-loader, they ignite 105 grains of 1.5F powder in it no problems.
