I’ve got a Martini receiver and barrel (obsolete cal pre 1900) that’s worn out.
Being used as a hammer/pry bar/ fence wire tensioner for decades is what did it.

You should cut it in half, sell it for 65 bucks and buy some fencing pliers!

The pre WW1 Triumph motorcycle that got turned into a saw by the same ancestor is arguably worse.
I guess they used what they had or could scrounge.
