Its nothing new and I cringe every time I hear about one on the news. However this latest one takes not only the offence to a new level but it is too close to home.
Early this week there was a home invasion on the outskirts of Yea just 1km or less from the center of town. So close that the school bus goes past the site.
You can read all the details at the link below I dont have any local or inside knowledge but shit these guys were nasty drenched him in fuel after burning his house down and stealing his guns. he must have thought his time was up and going to end in a horrific way.
The whole world seems to be going to shit nowadays hey mate.
Stabbings, shootings, rape, arson. You name it, it’s everywhere every bloody day now.
It seems that way and it is having knock on effects. Since my gun inspection I have spoken to a few people in the area and I was surprised by what some of the people told me. Such as “we always keep one gun out of the safe and ready for use” At the time I left it there and didnt ask why or what the ready situation was? Kangaroos, deer or perhaps invasion threats.
Its not the first time we have a few armed crims on the run in the area so who knows who has been traumatized to the point of being shit scared.
Personally I would probably go for the Yanagiba sushi knife and and big Kleaver easily accessible in the kitchen.
And the powers-that-be would still crucify you if you used any force that you thought appropriate at the time, in defense of oneself or another, to repel such force.
Oh, that’s right. You’re supposed to phone constable plod to come and assist. After the event. Yeh, right.
There’s a lot to be said for “castle law”.
Yes thats true but I would do what I had or could at the time despite the consequences. I dont think guns or at least rifles are the answer to home defense they would take too long to get from the safe find the mag and some ammo from a different location then its still to awkward for confined spaces and if you have family around pass through could be a real problem.
