How heavy is your Tikka? The only one I’ve held was the one my LGS had - a lite. From the tikka website, that’s 2.9 kg.
The Bergara website says it’s 3.3kg, and it definitely felt heavier holding it upright at the buttstock. The balance was nice though, center of mass felt like it was right under the mag.
Most who buy the Howa with plastic stock, dont keep the stock for long. Still good value I believe.
What model Bergara did you go with?
Yeah the swap to a boyds, grs or similar stock seems to be pretty standard practice!
I got a B14 Sporter.
Yeah, I asked about a Boyd’s stock for the Howa, but from memory it was an extra $200.

Is the B14 Sporter, regarded as a Varmint, with heavy barrel??
You could get it as a varmint 24 in barrel, 1:10 twist.
I got it with a 22 in with 1:12 sporter barrel though. I didn’t want a varmint barrel as I don’t think I’m going to be doing load experimentation, or shooting so much the barrel won’t cool.

I’m sure it will come in it’s own time.
