Some of the dealers on the sites really don’t seem to want to sell guns, do they?
No they dont! That dealer is a used car salesman also…he might need to stick to cars! I have waited 3 days for a dealer to call me back, in regards to a purchase too!
And then everyone of them cries about how poorly they are going… I lost all sympathy for them. 98% of firearms dealers in Australia have no clue about people.
They really don’t, and they also don’t seem to understand putting stupid prices on things doesn’t sell them and it’s better to make less money but move it faster, and get a rep for having interesting stuff and good prices. But no, they saw on the internet that bitser SMLE is $2000 so that’s what they’re selling it for.
Yes, I know of an 1886 12ga Winchester that has been butchered to be a single shot. Its been on sale for $2k + for five years.
This wanker dealer can suck a fat one! I got a matching number M96 with a solderin target sight for $500!
That is an amazing deal.
Yeah I think so too. Admittedly the barrel looks a little rough by borescope, but it still shoots really well! I m just preparing for the barrage of crap I will cop from the anti 6.5 league in the club haha. Its classic…cant beat em, join em, in realty.
Very nice, did it follow you home?
Yep…put the feelers out within the club… …and this happened…cant beat em so had to join em! I would have preferred something undrilled, but it’s done very well, and full matching numbers, 1944 Husqvarna. Only drilled in the back ring for diopter sight, no front ring drilling, thank God.
Do you mean a Model 1887 mate?
Model 1886’s were made in rifle calibers only.
Fat fingers, yes 1887.
That’s new - someone selling a milsurp to get a sporter.
At least he isn’t gonna bubba this I suppose.
Could be a nice one if you were in the market
A semi-automatic but still cool AF and it makes me happy that it exists.
Does anyone know anything about Indonesian Steyrs in 303?
This looks cool as hell, and if I was a richer man, it would be joining my carbine club.
That’s not in true .303, but 303sport
Oh? I didn’t notice that. A relic of the old laws around not owning military calibers here?
Bummer, that makes it a lot less interesting now.
I found a couple sources which stated that the Indonesians converted them to 303 because there was plenty of ammo around. I guess someone has converted it to 303sport when it came here?
I’d say it’s a relic of NSW’s retarded laws against .303 rifles back in the day - to the best of my knowledge, 7.7x54mm has never been used anywhere except Australia.
I also gather it’s possible to ream the chambers back out to regular .303, too…
