THIS is an expensive Aussie (no longer) Winchester, arrived 1880’s left 2014, passed in at $315 000, sold after to private US collector.

Unfortunately after asking the shop to check a few key things it looks like the magazine tube is tac welded to the ring, which it shouldn’t and one of the screws on the forened is not an original, but that’s less of a concern then the weld.

Yeah. It’s the weld that concerns me. There’s usually a pin under there as well and I’m guessing someone may have not realised and tried to pull the tube mag out without punching the pin first. Which wouldn’t be pretty. Few other ideas come to mind, but really, welding is when I walk away.

Oh man, how I’d love that hanging on my wall!

Should even be able to deregister it it’s easily got to be pre 1900, and 10 ga 2 7/8th would have to be obsolete.
