@GUN-DMC They are not cheap, starting price if you can find one is $3500 USD.
Dang Right I Do!
It sort of looks like a Webley.
Webley-Fosbery Auto Cocking Revolver. The top half of the frame slides back by recoil, if you look close you can see a zig-zag slot on the cylinder, where a peg cams the cylinder to the next shot. Made from 1901 till 1924, appx 4700 in total. Movie Triva: You can see one in the Maltese Falcon!
Is it a Henry of some description?
No, same era though.
Is it a cartridge firing rifle?
Yes, it is a breech loader
so seems like I’ve picked up a few things a long the way.
Saddle ring, short wood, short (by the era standards) - some sort of cavalry carbine, methinks.
Gallager Cavalry Carbine
Correct, not the most successful design but still innovative for the times
Hey that looks like my gun… FN trombone
How about this one out of my collection? The only one I have seen in Australia ( their might be more but)
Correcto, that’s correct. My new to too
Don’t know about the other one.
I’m 99% sure of what it is, but 100% sure I’ve never seen one! Or even heard of one, I won’t comment further but look forward to hearing about it in due course.
If it is what I think it is it’s a 22 calibre.
I will be like no1 and sit and watch what happens.
