No cigar
I don’t know what you mean, I’m having a great time.
deep breath
38-45 Clerke ( .38/.45 Clerke - Wikipedia) even though you said it’s not a 30 cal squints suspiciously
Bravo!
I believe you asked whether it was a 32cal?
I believe you’re right.
.38/.45 Clerke (pronounced Clark), aka 38/45 Hard Head aka 38/45 JWH*.
So after the new regulations made owning high calibre pistols difficult, resourceful Australian owners of .45ACP pistols resurrected this old wildcat cartridge.
They simply replaced the barrel with one in .38 special calibre and changed the recoil spring - the magazine requiring no modifications.
Voila! A .45 cal handgun is now a .38. And you can still use all that .45 brass laying around.
Necking down the .45ACP cases is apparently a real pain in the arse though.
*Why JWH?
To stick it up the arse of this guy:
I found a post here that backed up the old fella’s story: 38/45 JWH loads - 9mm/38 Caliber - Brian Enos's Forums... Maku mozo!
Well… Let’s keep the theme going
I’m completely crap at this, just wanted to share
And torment @juststarting
Was pretty cool though to see a tray full of them and get to shoot them in an old 1970s colt 1911.
Fella grumbled a bit when I couldn’t find one of the spent cases, sorry mate .
Semi auto pistol cartridge is all I got…looks long for a 9mm
Yeah, I have some brass that’s pretty hard to come by, but I assume 1-2% loss every range session. Just the nature of it, no need to grump
On the right track! This time we go the other way in size.
Unfortunately I’ve never had the pleasure of shooting a .45ACP, I’d love to own one but to fulfil the required shoots in QLD for high calibre pistols (anything over .38) would require travel and honestly too much effort.
It was quite low recoil, similar to a regular .38 special but a maybe slightly more oomph?
.32ACP case?
Ha, that’s cool. And would have been going a lot faster too, I dig it.
7.62 x 25 Tok or 7.63 Mauser Pistol
Yes, pretty sure.
