It was 1930’s Mauser Banner Type K sporting rifle fitted with a late war V K 98 barrel, (a number of last ditch rifles were chambered for the 7.92 x 33). It came with it’s original 8 x 51 barrel which was stuffed, and had a spoon bolt handle fitted. It was hidden in a pigeon coop for many years so you can imagine the condition. We spent ages cleaning and restoring in back to it’s former glory and it now resides with a farmer/collector in the Mallee district.

Smaller, but not much.

No. I don’t think a Colt was ever chambered for it.

No it is European in origin.
