Game: Guess that cartridge

Nope, fired from a rifle.

hrmmmmmm… I’ll have to ask Dr Smith about this one!

He would be the man to ask.
Thought it might have taken a bit longer than it did lol.

Tranquilizer dart?

Nope, GUN-DMC is on the path.

Is it fired in a carbine?.

It sure is.

Was it used in a war?

Were 13.8-million rounds of ammunition for it made by three different companies between 1861 to 1865 for that war?

That would be correct. And if you can find a carbine in good condition it is worth around $3000+USD. Not bad for something that cost $24 USD.

@Justice thats the right one mate. Post the name of the cartridge and then you can post up the next one!

This game is great for edumacating us simple shootin’ folks, I’ve learned about a heap of new cart’s since we started (and I thought I knew a fair bit, lol. Not @no1mk3 level, but I thought I knew a bit for simple dipshit).

The same. Half of the stuff that I have looked at I never knew existed. Has been a real eye opener and a very good learning curve as I read up about a particular cartridge or the firearm that shoots it.

One of my favourite pig rounds. Except a full box of Remington shells split on us. Hint… You wont find ammo in most shops, you will have to order it in.

Hrmm, it doesn’t look like a 308 and it’s not belted. I don’t know :pig:

is it a .35 Whelen?

Thats it good guess

:grinning: Mate had one for a few years and he went through a batch of shells that split just like the photo so I thought it would be worth a shot.

And this is a photo of the gun that shoots it.

And here is one next to a 22lr for scale
