There’s two trailers and a dolly back there somewhere, at least there was last time I could see
@AusTac if you prefer, I can make you an entire forum section… We can call it AusTacs safety moments. And you can brief the forum on a safety moment every morning? I feel like deep inside this is what you really want
…are you…is that…are you prostituting yourself to truck drivers just to get a lift?
Engine in my truck dropped a liner, ( shit itself for the non- mechanically inclined ),
Was going to head home but the farmer I am contracting for offered me his truck to pull my trailers with. Not making the money I should be but at least there is some coming in. Looks like an in chassis rebuild is in my future, oh fucking joy!
Ahh. I usually sell my ass for ride in that spot.
So, head comes off. crank case and one big end cap comes off, rod and piston out through the top. Cranks stays in situ? How the hell do you get the liner out? I can’t get over the scale of things above passenger vehicles. Im amazed at the diesel stuff that you and AusTac deal with.
Our cat Engines are big enough that they have seperate heads and you can take the side plates off and rotate the crank to just the right spot to access the big end caps and crane the piston assembly out the top, depending on what’s actually happened will change they way you go about it but you can just use a tool which kind of expands onto the liner and grabs it from the bottom and pulls it out
Highway trucks are a bit more c*nty and I don’t envy @danmac 's future
This is a rod and piston I have lying around
A few more parts and you’ll be able to build a nice little go cart motor
You missing Oldbloke are you JS?
Yeah those blood coils. Grrrrr.
recesses of JS’s dirty mind, part 1:
So imagine my confusion when I saw this meme.
What kind of fucked up family unit is that?!?!
Few moments later… Ohhhhhh like fixing a car. Sheesh, that’s way less fucked up than I thought.
Mate… this meme, way too close to the bone for some of us…
I get it, but who’s bone.
That skinny bloke, hangs out with dogs a lot
