Castlemaine Military Shoot

I will just leave this here…Jeff Pannan displayed a Vickers Machine gun last year…
40 rounds of ammo and any as issued military rifle you have. They are pretty relaxed on rifles, as long as its a Military caliber. It really is a great day out.

Gee, a SMLE that actually throws a bullet in the direction it is aimed, very rare!
Mine is lucky to land somewhere in the same postcode…

I have a 1926 Lithgow that outshoots that…

We are running out of people who know how to get them shooting. It really is a fine art…

Yeah. my parents and grandfather used to shoot full-bore when it was all shot with .303.
My grandfather won plenty of shoots, Queens etc., he could get them shooting quite well especially when you consider that at the time you were issued ammo to use.

The #4 I’ve got was, (according to the arsehole gunshop owner) , in “perfect condition”.
Two groove barrel that’s so pitted and worn out that it throws bullets sideways at 100m.
Even if it did shoot as well as the official ordinance spec, (which was 4" @ 100yds), I still don’t like them.
Un-Australian I know… :astonished:
