Mate if I was to be very nit picky. I would say it not shiny brass. Give it a buff on the buffing wheel. You wouldnt load a dirty cartridge into your gun. Maybe you would would but some of us would cringe at dirty brass.

And the band is a section of 50 bmg brass, from cases I destroyed trying to make poor man’s 12ga from hell
They’ll get buffed (well the decent ones anyway) at the lapidary club, they have the good polishes and wheels all set up.
