@JackDaniels Sounds like it’s remaining exempt under a “grandfather clause”, but the minute it changes hands will fall under the current rules.
I know of a few people in a similar boat with “grandfathered” firearms.

Radio controlled model warship with remote control cannons, not remote controlled cannons on their own. Kind of like how there are model tanks out there which can fire small plastic pellets/gels.

The fellas with the remote controlled warships used to have a meet at SSAA Majura and run their stuff on a dam there. The cannons fire ball bearings using compressed air. They actually go about sinking each other in a " battle". Cool as fuck to watch. The boats are really nice bits of gear, to watch them get blasted full of holes is a head spin. They have a foam block installed that allows them to be retrieved after getting sunk…They then patch them up and go again.
