Reloading Porn Pic's

Not very porn like but got some time today to play in the shed. Did about 250 x 22-250, 200 x 6.5x55 and resized 150 x 30-06.

Got enough ammo stockpiled to get me through to January/February when I build my new reloading setup.

Tried powder coating for the first time… Unless I am shooting black powder, this is what I am going to use from now on. Seems to be a much more efficient approach.

yes, very good ventilation and mask

I think I need to tweak a few things in my process and possibly powder, but happy overall

my press is getting excited, red rocket! ROFL

some see lipstick, but I see something else hehehehe

Anyway, that’s 45-70 done and dusted for a while. I also want to do Carcano and 8x56R, but I need to make some ingots first,

Next, making 45-70 from hell

You have been a busy lad.
Looking good.

Yeah, but I am not happy with the consistency of how they look. Or rather, I know I can improve. That’s for the dedicated thread. Will do some more over the weekend maybe, weather permitting and see what happens. Need to flux lots of wheel weights first.

I’ve been doing some shopping.
Shotgun lee loader from 1975, looks unused.

And a new Dillon XL650 press

Now I’ve got to do some more casting and powder coating on the weekend to keep this thing fed.

Niceeeee.
I can see hours of fun ahead.

How do you find the strong mount? Is it a good height and does it cause the press to wobble?
Looking at getting a 650 early next year.

Not sure if you are on Stalkbook but they have a Dillon page there that could be helpful.

the strong mount is nice and stable. front is bolted through the bench into the metal frame of the bench. the back ones have a block of wood under for extra support. I bought the strong mount that works with either the 550 or 650. its apparently 3 inches higher than the one thats just for the 650. Happy i got this one as i think the lower would have been a bit too low for me.
On the other end of the bench i’ve got a forster co-ax on one of the quick release mounts from inline fabrications which is very similar height.

I use a drafting desk chair so i can sit pretty high at it or its at the right height for standing.

They are both useless, you should give them to me.

Well, this was bound to happen sooner or later…

It happens to everyone at sometime.

Yeah, I played around with the concept, just to see how it would go, but I’ve never had one stuck for real until just now. I was quite happy about it LOL. I didn’t want to get one stuck intentionally, but this gave me a chance to go through the motions. Have all tools on hand, so it was pretty neat to put training so to speak into practice.

I haven’t had one stuck for years. When I did I was caught unprepared, no correct tools, not much in the way of internet so it was trial and error.

The beast is installed! RCBS Rock Chucker Supreme in, RCBS Partner Press out (@AusTac). Now I can be civilised and not need to borrow mates press that takes 1-1/4"x12 thread. Yeah!

Now I just need some time to do some reloading

If it takes my .50 dies i’m in, i’m.just a slack bugger when it comes to this stuff

You need to look up what thread your dies are…

I thought that you might have gone for the Hornady LnL press with the amount of different calibre that you have.

Nah man, I was perfectly happy with my Partner Press. I just needed it to take larger dies. It was a FB second-hand purchase…

Nice, looks to be in good condition for a second hand one, must not have had much use.
